We have recently partnered with the Cagayan de Oro (CDO) Port and World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to improve port waste management in the Philippines. The program was formally launched with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Port Area in Macabalan, Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental. This partnership with WWF-Philippines aims to engage various stakeholders, including government agencies, port authorities, Local Government Units (LGUs), communities, and organizations, to implement solutions towards marine conservation and improve waste management in the country.

The partnership with WWF-Philippines is an important step towards addressing the problem of waste management in ports. With this collaboration, the TTCB program will have the opportunity to work with experts in the field of marine conservation and sustainable waste management practices. The program will focus on educating and empowering port users, such as shipping companies and traders, to adopt sustainable practices that will reduce their waste footprint and contribute to a circular economy.

Key officials who participated in the launch of the program include WWF Project Manager for the Clean Ports, Clean Ocean Czarina Constantino-Panopio, Port Manager for PMO MO/C Isidro V. Butaslac Jr., Port Services Division Manager for PMO MO/C Ruby Maria O. Gumapon, and TTCB representative and Corporate Sustainability Manager Ceidge Razon. This collaboration highlights the importance of multi-stakeholder partnerships in addressing the problem of waste management in the country. By working together, the TTCB program, CDO Port, and WWF-Philippines can achieve their shared goal of promoting sustainable waste management practices and protecting the environment.
